「2023臺灣仲裁週」於10月28日下午由本會臺中辦事處與臺中律師公會(臺中律師學院)合作主辦「律師與仲裁」研習課程。本場次活動以模擬仲裁人訓練方式規劃三場仲裁講習課程，目的在協助青年律師對仲裁有基本認識，並針對如何開始仲裁、仲裁程序、仲裁法律規範等進行介紹及仲裁實務案例分享。

本次研習課程第一場由吳光陸律師介紹仲裁法及仲裁庭如何組成；第二場由洪明儒律師介紹仲裁程序、仲裁判斷及評議流程、仲裁人如何選定及本會仲裁院功能；第三場由李復甸教授引導執業律師如何成為一位專業的仲裁人並介紹目前國際採用「案件管理會議(Case Management Conference, CMC)」有效率的進行仲裁程序。

Enhancing Legal Expertise in Arbitration

On October 28, a comprehensive training course titled "Attorneys and Arbitration" was co-organized by the CAA Taichung Office and the Taichung Bar Association (TCBA). This course was specifically designed to equip young attorneys with fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of arbitration. It encompassed three sessions, each focusing on different aspects of arbitration, including initiation procedures, relevant laws and regulations, and practical approaches.

The course unfolded in three informative sessions:

 • Understanding the Arbitration Act and Arbitral Tribunals: Led by Kwang-Lu Wu, the first session provided an overview of the Arbitration Act. Wu elaborated on the composition and role of arbitral tribunals, offering insights into their structure and functioning, which is essential for attorneys navigating arbitration cases.

 • Navigating Arbitral Proceedings and Selecting Arbitrators: The second session, conducted by Ming-Ru Hung, covered the dynamics of arbitral proceedings, including the process of deliberation and the formulation of awards by the arbitral tribunal. Hung also covered the critical aspect of selecting an appropriate arbitrator and discussed the functioning of CAA's Court of Arbitration, explained its role in the arbitration process.

 • Case Management Conference and Its Efficiency: In the third session, Prof. Fuldien Li explained the concept and execution of a case management conference. This segment highlighted how such conferences can significantly enhance the efficiency of arbitral proceedings, an important consideration for attorneys managing arbitration cases.

This training course served as an essential platform for young attorneys to deepen their understanding of arbitration, which is a key area in legal practice. The sessions provided a comprehensive overview of the arbitration process, from the commencement of proceedings to the intricacies of tribunal deliberations and decision-making. The knowledge imparted in this seminar is expected to bolster the capabilities of attorneys in effectively handling arbitration cases.
